Merlin, the UK’s leading international health charity were looking to create a new online fundraising platform for sending e-cards that they could actively encourage their supporters to use at Christmas and on special occasions throughout the year.
As with all charities, trying to keep ongoing costs down for the project was a high priority so through careful planning we developed the website around a CMS enabling Merlin to keep the website updated with new cards without the need to come back to Adept.
The website brings together a Flash animated e-card with online purchasing through a secure credit card gateway. This allows the website visitor to purchase either single or multiple credits to send the cards they require.
There is also the option for corporate supporters to by a larger number of credits and also have the opportunity to personalise the e-card by adding their logo. The website then has the capability for the organisation to upload their mailing lists to send to multiple recipients easily.
Since the original launch of the website, Adept have worked with Merlin to re-skin the website to align with their new brand identity, extending the life of the site while minimising the ongoing investment required.
